Product Description
The PVM-741 TRIMASTER EL OLED 7.4” Monitor with 3G-SDI and HDMI is a high-performance monitor from Sony. It is designed with two 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs, smart functions and features, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display panel technology, and features a 10-bit driver, delivering a wide color gamut, deep blacks, and quick pixel response. In addition to this picture performance, the PVM-741 incorporates an eight-channel audio level meter display for precise sound monitoring. Sony's OLED with 10-Bit RGB DriverThe PVM-741 monitor's Quarter HD resolution (960 x 540 pixels) and a 10-bit RGB driver, together with Sony's Super Top Emission OLED display panel, provide smooth gradation from dark to bright portions of a scene.
Multi-Format Signal Interfaces with 3G/HD/SD-SDI Input CapabilityTo provide flexibility, this monitor incorporates various video interfaces as standard, including two 3G/HD/SD-SDI, HDMI, and composite inputs.
3G-SDI Interface CapabilityWith the 3G-SDI interface, the monitor accepts 1080/60p and 50p formats, compliant with the SMPTE 425 standard, transmitting up to 4:2:2/10-bit 1080/60p and 1080/50p video data using a single SDI cable. It also accepts 10-bit 4:4:4 Y/Cb/Cr and 4:4:4 RGB of 3G-SDI signals for various formats. When an upgrade to these 1080p systems is required, this single-link 3G-SDI system is a suitable, future-proof solution.
Color Space FunctionSony's "ChromaTRU" technology enables you to set the monitor to broadcast standard (ITU-R BT.709/EBU/SMPTE-C) color space settings. Setting the color space function to off reproduces the image in the original wide color space of OLED.
Eight-Channel Audio Level Meter DisplayWhen an SDI interface is connected, the embedded audio level can be displayed on the screen via an eight-channel audio level meter.
Audio MonitoringYou can monitor your audio via the built-in speaker or through the headphone jack.
HDMI Interface for a Wide Range of ApplicationsHDMI connectivity can expand user's convenience and applications. For example, the monitor can be connected with a professional video system such as XDCAM, XDCAM-EX, NXCAM, and HDV. Furthermore, consumer video products like Blu-ray and digital cameras are also connectable. You can also use this monitor for applications like Blu-ray video authoring and digital photo image previews.
Waveform Monitor and Vectorscope DisplayA combination of the vectorscope and waveform monitor functions helps users in field production without additional measurement equipment. An input signal's waveform and a vectorscope, with an SDI-embedded two-channel audio level meter, can be displayed on-screen. Both the waveform monitor and vectorscope have various modes including a zoom function (in an area of 0 to 20 IRE) with the waveform monitor, and a zoom function (in the central black area) with the vectorscope, for adjusting the white balance. The waveform of a specified line can also be displayed.
Timecode DisplayThis monitor can display an on-screen timecode; either LTC or VITC is selectable.
Flip FunctionThis feature allows the picture to flip without frame delay either horizontally, vertically, or both horizontally and vertically. This feature is useful for a 3D acquisition system with a 3D rig camera.
Camera Focus FunctionsThe monitor helps in controlling the aperture level of a video signal, and can display images on the screen with sharpened edges. The sharpened edges can be displayed in user-selectable colors (white, red, green, blue, or yellow) for more precise focusing. This camera focus function can even be enhanced when combined with the native scan mode.
Color TemperatureColor temperatures of D93, D65, or a USER preset value can be selected.
Auto White AdjustmentThe monitor employs a software-based color temperature (white balance) calibration function, which is called Monitor Auto White Adjustment. Combined with a PC and commercially available calibration tools, this function enables simple adjustment of the monitor's white balance.
ower Saving ModeWhen no input signal is received for over a minute, the monitor goes into the power saving mode and consumes minimal power. This function prevents unnecessary electrical consumption.
Silent ModeThis function enables users to stop the built-in cooling fan, thus enabling monitor operation without any fan noise.
Closed Caption DecoderThe closed caption information embedded in EIA/CEA-608 and EIA/CEA-708 can be decoded for display.
TallyThe incorporated tally lamp can illuminate in red, green, or amber, indicating active camera status. You can adjust the setting of PARALLEL REMOTE in the REMOTE menu.
User-Friendly Control Panel DesignBy assigning monitor functions to each of its seven assignable function buttons, users can customize the monitor for a specific application or usage, such as field or studio use. Button lights are dimmable and indicator lights are on/off switchable. This function allows users to easily operate the monitor in a dark environment without interference from these lights.
The default factory settings for the buttons are: F1: Brightness F2: Contrast F3: Chroma F4: Scan F5: H/V Delay F6: Volume F7: I/P Mode Assignable Function Buttons
